Cross-Training for Dancers!

A strength coach, fellow Physical Therapy classmate, and Purchase COD alumni, Marissa Joseph, gave a lecture on cross-training for dancers on Friday, April 29th! The focus was to provide a better understanding of what the body requires in order to function at its dancing best. She touched on the unique physical demands of dance and how to look outside the dance studio to make a body the most able, powerful, and efficient it can be. More specifically, she defined cross-training and talked about its benefits, what dancers should be getting from your cross-training regimen, what cross-training options are available to performers and when it should be implemented in their dancing schedule.
